This is a digital history class, but there’s a thing called “the Internet of objects” which is all about how the Internet has pervaded our everyday lives through wifi-enabled objects (like your toaster or fridge). But this project is your chance to do something that isn’t wifi-enabled but is a thing.

For Project 7, you can create anything you like that has to do with your war, and can demonstrate some sort of argument about it. You could sew a battle flag. You could paint a picture. You could draw a comic. You could reinterpret some primary sources in a new and interesting way.

You can see a few ideas here about how others have gotten creative with ideas and sources from the period.

Basically, the sky’s the limit here. Write a song! Make a video! Sew a period costume! Bake a cake! I don’t care. Just do something with your hands or your voice or your body.

Then write a blog post about your thing, explaining what it is and why it’s an interesting way to learn about your war. Make sure you include lots of pictures (take pictures along the way too–process pictures are cool!).

Project 7 is your chance to go wild!
